A few words from the author of this blog
Friends, after the success in my blog, http://beekar-the-numismatist.blogspot.in, describing about the ‘Republic Coins of India’, I was requested by many visitors and friends, to create a blog on British India coins. To keep up their request, I’ve ventured to write this blog.

Firstly, I’m not ashamed of admitting a naked truth. I’m in no way an expert on British India coins, rather I’m just a beginner in that vast field of numismatic knowledge. Though I started collecting many British India coins from circulation during my childhood days, just collected those as coins having different head designs and denominations.

After buying a reference book on coins, “Nineteenth & Twentieth Century Coins of India”, written by Mr. D Chakravarty of Kolkata, I gained a good knowledge about the science of coin collection. After getting a broad- band connection, I had the privilege of accessing the Internet and got a chance to visit many sites on coin collection and learnt many facts about coins.

As I am a teacher by profession, I wished to share my knowledge about coins with my fellow collectors and I presume that I will achieved my aim to some extent by starting this blog. I have tried to post the facts and figures needed by collectors of coins. You, as a guest to this blog, are the right person to impartially judge about how far I am successful in my mission.

This blog has not been created by me to show up my collection, rather it is a knowledge sharing platform. Coin photos, from many other collector friends, different websites, are placed in this blog for knowledge sharing purpose only. If you have any interesting coin with you in your collection and wish to share it with others, you are cordially invited to join hands with me and let us all try to push Indian Numismatics to a new height.

Acknowledgement:
The photos of coins shown in this blog, are collected from Internet from the posts of various collectors, from different websites. I’ve not asked any body for permission to post their photos in this blog. In my thought, as this blog is only a knowledge sharing platform and I’m not going to be financially gainer by creating this blog, so no need to seek permission for posting any photo. Hence, I may be excused for this un-authorized work done by me.

Thanks:
I express my thanks to Rahul M and Mr. S.K. Jain for sending photos of some coins to be posted in this blog.
